Bible Verse On ForgivenessMark 11:25-26

25And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. 26But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses

This famous bible verse on forgiveness should help us to have a firm foundation of what the bible says about forgiveness.  Forgiveness is a heart issue.  Being able to forgive is a selfless act.  It means you take yourself out of the equation and think about what other people want or what is in the best interest of other people.

Did you know that when you forgive, it also has the power to cause healing in your physical body?  Many people who have body ailments have resentment in their heart.  We must examine our lives to make sure we are not holding as they say, “ill-feelings” against another person.  Isn’t it ironic the term would be called “ill feelings?”  Unforgiveness comes with feelings that lead to illness in the body.

We have to practice forgiveness on a daily basis.  I used to confuse unforgiveness with hurt.  Sometimes we may forgive but it does not mean we do not still hurt but with time the hurt goes away.  It’s how you think about the thing you are forgiving.  If we want God to forgive us of our sins, we have to be willing to forgive others.  It is in His word.

Once you get the true meaning of this bible verse of forgiveness in your heart, it will be much easier to forgive.  Forgiving others relieves stress and anxiety which are leading causes of illness, depression and unhappiness.

Make it a practice to forgive others.  Ask God to help you and show you how to easily forgive so that your blessings will not be hindered.

Pray this prayer:

“Heavenly Father, may the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable to you. I choose to love and forgive as your word says we should. I choose to think on whatever is good, whatever is true and of a good report.  I choose to forgive.  I choose to love.  I choose to keep my mind on you so that I have perfect peace in you.  I thank you for helping me to develop a forgiving heart, in Jesus’ name.  Amen.”
